Indigent Drug Program (IDP)

The Alabama Department of Mental Health provides prescription medications for eligible clients under the administration of the community mental health center.  Clients provide medication through the IDP program must be under the care of a licensed physician employed with or under contract with the mental health center.  Each client must have a psychiatric diagnosis established and be an active client of the center before any prescription is filled.  Eligibility criteria for this program are established by the Alabama Department of Mental Health.
